Martin Tracey and D.G Torrens have released an update on Birmingham: A City Rooted in Talent Documentary which they kindly asked us to be part of.
The doc has officially secured a distribution deal with an incredible Los Angeles–based distributor!!
Renowned for their expertise in documentaries, they’ve played a key role in bringing award-winning independent and international films to audiences around the world, on many well-known platforms.
Have a read of what D.G and Martin had to say
“After eight intense months of graft, persistence, and bouncing back from pushback, we made it! The contracts are signed and the wheels are turning. There is still lots for us to do and we are working closely with our distributor. It’s been a challenge, but our determination never wavered.
It was amazing and humbling for us to win the Best Documentary Award at Birmingham Film Festival 2024, and so much of Birmingham has been right behind this film, especially our terrific cast members – thank you. However, we have been a little disappointed (and surprised) that certain quarters of ‘influential’ Birmingham, haven’t been as supportive of the project as they should, after all, it is a film about Birmingham for Birmingham. A positive film championing all corners of our city. We are grateful that Hollywood has seen the potential in the documentary and stepped in!
We’ve been adding some jaw-dropping finishing touches received after the making of the documentary that we are currently editing into the film, as well as Bill Ward’s amazing video message received while he was preparing for the Back to the Beginning gig. Early-on music samples from a legendary band accompanied with rare images few have laid eyes on. Pure gems. Plus other minor edits. In light of recent events, we will be adding a tribute page to Ozzy.
Immense gratitude to everyone who has supported our journey: Our amazing cast and crew. Those who voted for us at the BFF Awards. Our crowdfunding supporters. The generous sponsors and the amazing radio stations and podcasters who gave us a voice. And every single one of you who rallied behind us, spreading the word across social media. We appreciate you all and can’t wait to share our film with the world. We will keep you posted as we proceed forward.”
THIS FILM IS OUR LOVE LETTER TO BRUM.
